Oppo N1 Review

The Oppo N1 is the first handset to receive Google certification to launch With CyanogenMod pre-installed with Google's suite of apps and Play Store.

Oppo N1 is the latest smartphone which comes with the latest CyanogenMod. 

The second most profitable smartphone vendor in china, Oppo is growing leaps and bounds this year and when you look at its 2013 crop of handsets, that's for a good reason after the first phone with 13 mp camera and second with full hd display, Oppo Find 5, then the very thin and light dual sim Oppo R819, the company now outs a unique cameraphone, dubbed the Oppo N1.

 DESIGN     

  The Oppo N1 is one big phone. With Dimensions 6.72 x 3.25 x 0.35” (170.7 x 82.6 x 9 mm), 

        
  It only gives way to the Xperia Z Ultra phablet. It is taller than phablets like the HTC One max, Lumia 1520 and the Galaxy Mega 6.3, but narrower than Samsung's handset, so at least holding it is fairly possible. It is heavy phone but not as heavy that the phone must be disqualified but you might have to use your both hands to operate. 
        
  All the physical buttons are to the right hand side of the device which includes a power button and below the power button is the volume rocker. Under the bottom of the phone is the speaker, which is quite decent. A 5mm headphone jack and a charging slot or data synchronization slot.

  DISPLAY       

  Oppo N1 comes with the true ips 1920*1080 hd display.

  5.9 in (150 mm) diagonal
(16:9 aspect ratio),

IPS TFT LCD,
1920x1080 pixels at 377 ppi,

  Touchscreen is quite responsive in terms of playing hd games. 

  

  According to the Oppo it quite pretty intensive device. 

 HARDWARE & PERFORMANCE        

       
  The N1 packs a giant 5.9-inch full 1080p display, 1.7GHz quad-core processor and 2GB of RAM. The graphic processor is the Adreno 320 which is somewhat lower to that of the Nexus 5 which comes with Adreno 330 GPU again their might not be gaming issue but its an older version. There are actually two different versions of this monster: One running Android 4.2.2 with Oppo's custom Color OS user interface and another version that runs CyanogenMod out of the box. The Oppo is running with the snapdragon 600 process while the other competitior phones are having snapdragon 800. Coming to the battery of the device which is HUGE, 3610 mAh battery which can give upto 7 hours of on screen display. The device has an incredible stamina to go through two days so if you are looking for a battery wise phone you might have to check this device.

 CAMERA

  we can browse through the web by just using the back panel without touching the screen instead while holding the device scroll up and down by your index finger makes easy to navigate through the phone.

  PRICING & FINAL THOUGHTS     

  The Oppo N1 comes with the 16 gig or the    32 gig inbuilt internal storage. 

  Unfortunatly no external storage slot is provided. firstly the Oppo N1 is going to ship with its OS color UI but they have also provided CyanogenMod for the devices and an unofficial version of Oppo is also going to be released named the PEPSI version which will be only available via some sorts of competitions from the pepsi. Oppo comes with android 4.3 out of the box . 

  The price of the Oppo N1 in the Indian market is expected to be around Rs. 36,999.

LG G FLEX

Smartphones don’t have to be flat. They don’t have to be rigid either. At least that’s what LG wants us to believe, and the G Flex is supposed to be the living proof of this radical concept.

LG G flex is running an android version of 4.2.2 on top of android with LG’s custom skins and their OS optimus UI. LG G flex is the first curviest smartphone by its company and its tough competitor to the Samsung galaxy round which is Samsung's first curved phone too.  Though it has a large wide screen it was not able to operate by one hand but LG manages it ways to this smartphone.

  DISPLAY          

LG G flex has a large 6 inches display which many people will think why do I need such a large screen display. Later the start of 2013 when galaxy note II was released people thought the same but it changed the game of all the smartphones people liked Samsung galaxy note II. 6 inches does not look that much weird while talking on the phone, it will look just like the Samsung galaxy S3 or the canvas 4 eventually. Due to its curvy display it becomes more stable, easy to handle this device with such a large screen. Instead of two handed, the device becomes a one handed device. The resolution is some what the LG G flex is lagging in competition with all the smartphones in the industry. It comes with a 720 p resolution, instead of now-a-days common 1080p Hd displays. 

The G Flex features a 6-inch P-OLED (p-plastic) display of 720 x 1280 pixels (HD) resolution, translating to about 245 ppi. Though it has poor 245 ppi but its curved display doesn't ruin the display of the G flex. Though we can easily identify the difference in the display.

Viewing angles are superb due to its curved display. Overall, LG really showed its display making prowess here, and if you’re looking for a large display, you should definitely check this device.

It has proximity light sensors and led notification indicator.

  CAMERA         

Camera with the LG G flex is quite decent. It takes a decent amount of images. It has 13 megapixels shooter with flash and the front facing camera has a 2.1 megapixel shooter which is quite better than the nexus devices. The pictures it takes is good than the nexus 5 but not as good as the note 3. The rear camera on the LG G Flex is pretty similar to that on the LG G2, with the biggest difference being the lack of optical image stabilization. The camera app also offers many customization option and different types of modes like the HDR+ , panorama, dual shot, burst mode…

  HARDWARE & PERFORMANCE        

Lg powers this guy with the latest specs available in the industry which brings up its competition level– a Snapdragon 800 bringing together four Krait 400 cores clocked at 2.26 GHz and an Adreno 330 GPU, along with 2GB of RAM.

Overall the performance shown by the g flex is very snappy which is provided to it under the hood which is expected by a modern flagship device. It is way more than what the system requirement exists. With the latest graphic adreno 330 GPU all the HD games work flawlessly on this device. Due to its large screen it becomes quite easy while playing games. Coming across the sound Call quality is good, the earpiece is nice and loud, and the noise-cancelling microphone should help with call quality, especially in environments with steady background noise, such as in a moving car or train.

     The G flex brags a price when it comes to the inbuilt non removable battery. The battery which powers the hardcore g flex is a 3,500 mAh battery which has the potential to go through the day with heavy usage without any problems; instead it can run through the other half day of your work also so. You need not need to worry about your alarm because, In stand-by, the phone drained just five percent of its battery in about eight hours, so you won’t have to worry about missing your alarm due to the phone shutting down overnight.

The main thing in which the LG G flex differs from other smartphones is that it does not have any physical buttons on the front and the sides. It has a led notification and volume rockers toward its rear and have many features like pressing the volume down rocker to click the image. For the first few days it’ll feel somewhat not useful but you’ll get used to it.

  SOFTWARE       
The G flex runs the well know LG’s well know android overlay, Optimus UI (user interface), but unfortunately it does make use of the curved screen, overall the system is running android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, Latest tweaks of this Optimus UI is that we are able to scroll the Lockscreen without touching the phone and I think its amazing the way you tilt the phone the lockscreen widgets does the same. LG has some its apps like QSlide apps that you can float on the screen for some basic multiwindow multitasking and SlideAside, which lets you slide up to three apps to the left of the screen and then easily recall them with a swipe to the right

And, we must say, watching video on the big curved screen of the G Flex is a pleasure.

But the most useful tool in the ‘G Flex’ is probably DualWindow, which lets you split the screen in half and open up two apps of your choice just like the Samsung galaxy note 3.

  PRICING & FINAL THOUGHTS       

The G flex is the key to the future generation of the smartphones. It’s a step towards new generation of the curved screens and flexible devices. LG has not revealed the G Flex’s pricing  and availability details in the Western markets, but we expect the device to hover somewhere at the upper end of the market. When it becomes available, in the first part of next year, we will probably see it for around $700 unlocked and for $199 to $299 on contract. The G Flex is not worth buying for its curved screen alone, but it’s definitely an interesting device that you should at least consider because of its self healing back panel which is said to remove the small scratches from the rear. And it does comes with a fair enough 32 GB built in storage.
