Galaxy S5 Release Date

Release date of the Galaxy S5 is more likely to happen on April 2014 contrary to earlier report that the Galaxy S4 replacement is making its grand entry as early as January of the same year, a new report said.

Buzz about Samsung launching a new premium smartphone featuring a metal body is getting hotter. According to a report in Korean publication ETNews, the device dubbed Galaxy F may make a debut around the same time as the company's upcoming smartphone flagship Galaxy S5. 

As per the report, the prototype of the metallic smartphone was developed in Europe and later moved to the company's production facility in Vietnam. An earlier report had said that Samsung is preparing a new Galaxy F line of devices, which will be placed above the S and Note series. However, it was also being speculated that the Galaxy S5 could also sport a metal frame. 

Previously, alleged images of a metal frame of a Samsung smartphone too had leaked online. It was reported that the metal frame was provided by a Samsung sub-contractor, which has been asked to manufacture it without specifying the model. 

The frame was 143.83mm in length and 72.27mm in width, compared to the 136.6mm long and 69.8mm wide Galaxy S4. These dimensions suggested a larger screen than 5-inch. It is also rumoured that the Galaxy S5 will have 2K display resolution and 560ppi pixel density, the highest for any smartphone. 

A Samsung device with model number SM-G900F device, believed to be a higher-end variant of S5, had also appeared on AnTuTu benchmarks. The device that showed up on the benchmark results is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chip and 3GB of RAM. The Krait processor part of the chip had been clocked at 2.5GHz. The phone was detected as having 1080p display, though it's possible that Samsung locked the resolution to that particular resolution (Galaxy S5 is said to sport a 2K display). The device was running Android 4.4 KitKat and featured a 16MP camera. It is likely that this device was Galaxy F.

Micromax Canvas smartphones to get Android 4.4 KitKat update

Micromax offered Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) update for the A116 Canvas HD back in June. But both the Canvas 4 and the Canvas Turbo were launched on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) with no sign of future upgrades even though these have built-on OTA update support.  MMXNewscaster, popular for smartphone leaks has tweeted that Micromax plans to release Android 4.4 (KitKat) update for 11 Canvas devices and 3 Canvas smartphones would be upgraded to Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). If this turns out to be true, its an awesome news for the Canvas users, since they would get the Android 4.4 directly, skipping the Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) update.

The exact time frame of the roll out is not available yet. Since this is just a rumor at the moment, we can’t confirm if Micromax would release the KitKat update for all these devices, until we get an official word. Even though Android KitKat supports devices with 512MB of RAM, we have not seen a single entry-level smartphone running on Android 4.4 out of the box. Wickedleak announced Android 4.4 KitKat update for the Wammy Passion Z+ last week. Everyone want too see other OEMs to offer KitKat update for their devices.

First phone by Indian company to get Android 4.4 update

Wicked Leak, the brand that launches Wammy series smartphones in India, has announced the Android 4.4 KitKat update for its Wammy Passion Z+ smartphone.

The company revealed that the Android KitKat update will be released and available to existing Wammy Passion Z+ customers on 14 January, 2014. The Wammy Passion Z+ natively ran Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out-of-the-box.

Further, Wicked Leak notes that the new customers booking the Wammy Passion Z+ from Friday will receive the smartphone with Android KitKat. With the rollout of Android KitKat, Wicked Leak will become the first domestic handset vendor to release the latest Android OS for its smartphone. However, the company has not detailed plans to roll out the Android KitKat update for other Wammy smartphones.

Wicked Leak launched the Wammy Passion Z+ in India at Rs. 15,990 in July this year. The device comes with dual-SIM capabilities with one SIM supporting 3G and other with 2G support.

It comes with a 5-inch full-HD display with a resolution of 1080x1920 pixels and also features scratch resistant Dragon Trail Glass. The display supports 16 million colours and has a pixel density of 443 ppi. The Wammy Passion Z+ is powered by a 1.5GHz MediaTek (MTK 6589) quad-core processor with 1GB of RAM.

The Wammy Passion Z+ sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with auto-focus, BSI sensor and can record a full-HD video while accompanying the camera is a LED flash. The front includes a 2.0-megapixel camera. It has an inbuilt storage of 4GB which can be expanded up to 64GB using microSD card. Connectivity features includes 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and the device packs a 2,500 mAh battery. Other features include a G-sensor, FM radio, GPS, E-compass, magnetic sensor and Micro-USB. The device comes with dimensions 141x68.7x8.9mm and weighs 150 grams.

Xolo LT900 smartphone with 4G LTE support

Xolo LT900 smartphone with 4G LTE support, Android 4.2 launched at Rs. 17,999

Xolo has officially launched its first smartphone with 4G support in India, the LT900 at Rs. 17,999. The highlight of the Xolo LT900 is that it supports TDD LTE bands, and is the first smartphone in company's LT smartphone series.

The Xolo LT900 has been listed on the company's site with pricing details, however, without word on the availability of the smartphone

The 4G-enabled smartphone runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out-of-the-box and supports single SIM (GSM) functionality. The Xolo LT900 is powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon S4 processor with Adreno 225 GPU (clocked at 384 MHz), which are coupled with 1GB of RAM. It features a 4.3-inch HD (720x1280) IPS display with One Glass Solution (OGS) and boasts of Corning Glass protection.

Xolo's LT900 sports an 8-megapixel rear autofocus camera with dual-LED flash and BSI sensor, while it also houses a 1-megapixel front-facing camera. The smartphone includes 8GB of inbuilt storage that is further expandable up to 32GB via microSD card. It packs an 1810mAh battery which the listing claims can deliver up to 15 hours of talktime and up to 362 hours of standby time on 2G networks.

Apart from 4G network support, connectivity options on the Xolo LT900 include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/ AGPS and 3G. It comes with dimensions 128.7x66x9.8mm. The Xolo LT900 comes preloaded with Skype, BigFlix, Kepplr Cloud Space and Airtel Mobile TV apps.

Xolo recently launched the Opus Q1000 budget phablet at Rs. 9,999. The Xolo Opus Q1000 runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and is a dual-SIM phablet with support for GSM+GSM. It features a 5-inch FWVGA IPS display with 480x854 pixels resolution. The Xolo Opus Q1000 continues the Q range tradition and equips a 1.2GHz quad-core Broadcom BCM23550 with Videocore IV GPU and 1GB of RAM.

The Oppo N1 is the first handset to receive Google certification to launch With CyanogenMod pre-installed with Google's suite of apps and Play Store.

Oppo N1 is the latest smartphone which comes with the latest CyanogenMod. 

The second most profitable smartphone vendor in china, Oppo is growing leaps and bounds this year and when you look at its 2013 crop of handsets, that's for a good reason after the first phone with 13 mp camera and second with full hd display, Oppo Find 5, then the very thin and light dual sim Oppo R819, the company now outs a unique cameraphone, dubbed the Oppo N1.

 DESIGN     

  The Oppo N1 is one big phone. With Dimensions 6.72 x 3.25 x 0.35” (170.7 x 82.6 x 9 mm), 

        
  It only gives way to the Xperia Z Ultra phablet. It is taller than phablets like the HTC One max, Lumia 1520 and the Galaxy Mega 6.3, but narrower than Samsung's handset, so at least holding it is fairly possible. It is heavy phone but not as heavy that the phone must be disqualified but you might have to use your both hands to operate. 
        
  All the physical buttons are to the right hand side of the device which includes a power button and below the power button is the volume rocker. Under the bottom of the phone is the speaker, which is quite decent. A 5mm headphone jack and a charging slot or data synchronization slot.

  Oppo N1 comes with the true ips 1920*1080 hd display.

  The N1 packs a giant 5.9-inch full 1080p display, 1.7GHz quad-core processor and 2GB of RAM. The graphic processor is the Adreno 320 which is somewhat lower to that of the Nexus 5 which comes with Adreno 330 GPU again their might not be gaming issue but its an older version. There are actually two different versions of this monster: One running Android 4.2.2 with Oppo's custom Color OS user interface and another version that runs CyanogenMod out of the box. The Oppo is running with the snapdragon 600 process while the other competitior phones are having snapdragon 800. Coming to the battery of the device which is HUGE, 3610 mAh battery which can give upto 7 hours of on screen display. The device has an incredible stamina to go through two days so if you are looking for a battery wise phone you might have to check this device.

  Unfortunatly no external storage slot is provided. firstly the Oppo N1 is going to ship with its OS color UI but they have also provided CyanogenMod for the devices and an unofficial version of Oppo is also going to be released named the PEPSI version which will be only available via some sorts of competitions from the pepsi. Oppo comes with android 4.3 out of the box . 

  The price of the Oppo N1 in the Indian market is expected to be around Rs. 36,999.
